Juventus “consider loan deal for Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek to replace Arthur” – who are in talks with Arsenal to join them until the end of the season
Juventus are plotting for life after Arthur by making a move for Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek, according to reports in Italy.
If Arthur – as it increasingly seems likely – were to leave at the end of January, Juventus would have a low-cost solution ready to rebuild the midfielder: by taking Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea.
The 25-year-old England midfielder has made 20 appearances this year for the Blues and provided three assists but is not considered a key player for Tuchel.

According to Sky Sport in Italy, Juventus identified the England midfielder for his technical qualities and the possibility of signing him later on to a permanent contract at a fair price within his strict budget.
The two alternatives should the deal fail would be Bruno Guimaraes from Lyon and Renato Sanches from Lille. The main issue with the two, however, is their transfer fees of over £ 41.7million – an impossible price for Juve.
Loftus-Cheek would immediately be able to play Arthur’s role at club as Juve look to move up the Serie A ranks.
Arthur has already chosen to leave Turin this month and is considering joining Arsenal on loan.
As detailed by Sportsmail, the 25-year-old former Barcelona star is keen to take the step but is waiting for Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri to give the deal the green light.
Arthur set to be loaned out to Arsenal after struggling for playing time at Juventus
Mikel Arteta is keen to provide reinforcements after clearing Ainsley Maitland-Niles to join Roma.
Arthur’s salary of around £ 4.7million a year is said to be fully paid for by the London club who are in a hurry to buy a player like him to improve the quality of the squad.
Talks are underway as Juventus want to sell the player or insert a purchase obligation once the loan ends.
The deal for Arthur is affected, however, by the arrival of Loftus-Cheek with Juve eager to secure a replacement before letting the Brazil international go.
With Aaron Ramsey judged to be surplus to needs, Allegri’s midfielder options extend to Manuel Locatelli, Rodrigo Bentancur, Adrien Rabiot, Weston McKennie and Federico Bernardeschi.
