MIDDLETOWN — A townsman has been arrested after police say he stole another person’s identity to get a car, credit card and bank loan.

Roan Brown, 38, was arrested Oct. 18 and charged with second-degree theft, misrepresentation to obtain credit card issuance, credit card theft, unlawful use of credit card, receiving of goods or services obtained through the unlawful use of a credit card, first-degree impersonation, criminal impersonation and second-degree forgery, Middletown police said.

Police say an “extensive investigation” involving multiple departments “determined that identity theft occurred, resulting in various fraudulent transactions” prior to Brown’s arrest.

Brown is scheduled to appear in state Superior Court in Middletown on Nov. 1, police said.
